Digital Archive

The William Saroyan house museum has created an extensive digital archive, which includes photos, artworks and drawings, book covers and dedication pages, handwritten pieces, audio, and video materials. Most of these were gathered due to digitizing the collection of Fresno State Armenian Studies Program library and personal archives of Charles Janigian - founding director of Forever Saroyan LLC, professor of Armenian studies Dickran Kouymjian, photographer Boghos Boghossian, translator Aram Ohanian, and many others. We want to express our gratitude for letting us share this material with the world in following our mission to promote, inspire, and educate the legacy of William Saroyan, revealing his talents as a multidisciplinary artist. Another initiative of the Museum was gathering different personal stories of people who used to know the writer. In our vision of enlarging our exhibition spaces for richer representation, we are welcoming archive donations

Research Corner

William Saroyan dreamed that his home would become a space for students to come and work. This is even noted in the writer’s will. Following his wishes, we decided to create a dedicated research room that would give an opportunity to students, scholars and other interested individuals to benefit from the vast heritage which William Saroyan left. Having created is the world's largest digital archive of Saroyan, and we plan to make it accessible for everyone on the planet. After the completion of the work, the house museum will become a center for Saroyan studies. Guests of the House Museum will be offered special guided tours, as well as have access to the study room. Extend your learning and teaching beyond the classroom and deepen your research at the Museum’s research center.
